Kathy Triolo is a Nevada City based photographer and digital artist.

In her creative mind, the world of photography meets the realm of fine art. As a passionate photographer, she uses the power of Photoshop to transform ordinary images into painterly creations, sometimes otherworldly with a touch of Artificial Intelligence.

Kathy is a 2018 winner of the Golden Bear, California State Fair in Photography.

Her photography has been accepted to the PBS KVIE Art Auction every year since 2020 and her work has been featured in multiple calendars of Bodie, Mono Lake, Sutter Buttes on a regular basis.  She has had multiple gallery showings including September 2022 at Viewpoint Gallery entitled “After Happily Ever After.”

Fitness Photography – Lighting with Impact

Sculpting a fitness subject with lighting can be challenging.  Fitness portraits often involve aspiring models, fitness instructors, or Pro Bodybuilders for personal branding. However, today, many of my requests come from everyday people who have changed their lifestyles and want to capture themselves in a portrait that visually describes their new beginning. In this presentation, Jim will provide an overview of the fundamentals of fitness photography. During the demonstration, you'll learn how to light and create impact. Then, we shift gears to see the magic happen with his post-work process.

    Program Highlights:

    Learn How To:

    • Place the lights to create impact and dramatically enhance the visual effect of the portrait.
    • Define muscle tone with highlights and shadows - contributing to a visually striking and dynamic image.
    • Directing the subject's expression to match the desired emotion in the portrait ensures a cohesive and powerful visual narrative.
    • Create a mood in the image with post-processing, enhancing the overall storytelling aspect of the portrait.
    • Impactful black and white print - a style often appreciated for its timeless and dramatic aesthetic.
