PPSV hosts quarterly Image Competitions, which are open to PPSV members and non-members alike. Though the competition is open to all, only PPSV members in good standing will be awarded merits and are able to compete for quarterly and annual awards.
The purpose of PPSV Image competitions is to allow photographers to enter digital images to be judged against a standard of excellence using the 12 Elements of a Merit Image. These competitions allow members to test out their images and receive feedback in preparation for District and International PPA Competitions (For more information, go to www.ppa.com/ipc). Each image entered receives a constructive critique from one or more of the evening’s judges. This is a great way to improve your work.
PPSV strives to use the same rules that PPA uses for the MIR (Merit Image Review process). However, while there are no scores given at PPA Merit Image Reviews (merit/no merit only), PPSV continues to use the traditional scoring system (65-100) as illustrated above. This gives you the opportunity to test the strength of your images at a local level before entering these larger competitions.
To better serve you, PPSV Image Competition is moving to printcompetition.com.
https://printcompetition.com/Printcompetition.com is an online management system for image judging and scoring.
